Childhood

1977 She is born in Fukuoka, Japan

She spent her time to read in a closet or a corrugated fireboard, to write to friends and favorite authors or for homework, to make small stuffs for her dolls, to correct grain of obsidian, to dream to work in a zoo, to ski on the grass, to walk into rice fields, to laugh loudly etc…

Pamela Travers, Fukunaga Reizo, C.S. Lewis, Alain Alexander Milne, Michael Ende, Koji Suzuki (Kojizukin), Maurice Sendak, many old tales... Osamu Tezuka, Hayao Miyazaki, Hiroshi Masumura, Suzue Misuzu, Kyoko Ariyoshi, Izumi Kawahara… Edogawa Rampo, Seishi Yokomizo, Kyusaku Yumeno, Tatsuhiko Shibusawa, Shotaro Ikenami, Yasutaka Tsutsui…

 

 

School days

1996 She moved to Kyoto for her study on French language and Art History in a university.
She encountered a theatre company Ishinha as audience in 1996 and she started to be interested in the performance art.

1999 She encountered butoh in a workshop "Oto no kakawari - Relation with sound" with Atsushi Takenouchi and Masahiro Bessho (Percussist) .

2000
February
Her first performance on the stage in ‘Shirtology’ of Jerôme Bel in Alti Hall (Kyoto)

March
Graduation in French language and submitted her thesis about butoh: “Expression of Crisis - Butoh”

April
She started to work in a bookshop and liked to find sometimes a lemon on books which some people left*

May
Play in ‘Letter from Mr.Otto’ of Tenko Ima

Autumn
Play in ‘Force of young sisters’ of Tenko Ima

She took classes of Masaki Iwana, Toru Iwashita and Akiko Motofuji (butoh) and Monochrome Circus (contemporary dance)

 

2001
February
Play in ‘Tanagokoro – Palm’ of Atsushi Takenouchi in Torii Hall (Art Theater dB, Osaka) in where she danced duet with Jean Daniel Fricker

April
She moved to Hokkaido for working in a farm

September
She moved to Montpellier, south of France for her study of Art History and Dance. (But soon she got disappointed by the academic way to study.)

 

2003
May
She took a workshop of Atsushi Takenouchi and Hiroko Komiya (music) in Paris. She decided to move to Paris instead of her intention to return to Japan

September
She moved to Le Tunnel in Paris where many artists worked. And she started to take Kathak lessons led by Kamal Kant. And there she encountered Tristan Edelman, artistic director of a multidisciplinary company Les Transe-Mutants
After a while, she started to work with them. At the first, she really felt uncomfortable to be on rhythm and to be given external form/movement, although she liked their dance which it seems from nowhere but from everywhere: afro-Cuban, Indian, Karate, Capoeira, modern dances and neo classic ballet etc...

...The owner of the place Le Tunnel where she lived wanted us go away for selling it since years. Then, at the end of the summer, all artists moved away.

Since, she is on the way of travel.

September-November
She had been in India. Almost of the time, she stayed in Rishikesh where she followed Iyengar Yoga course led by Usha Devi at Omkarananda Ashram. In India existences of everything were so dense and vital that it impressed her enormously. Her way to see the world was changed like many people.
